| 10 YEARS of ENDEAVOUR
The thought of recalling exploits in motor sport must have been too great to avoid otherwise, good intentions would long since, have evaporated in the night.
Commencing merely as an idea, perhaps not even an intent, my thinking could not be denied, obviously, resulting in this trilogy.
At any early time it become clear that the jig-saw will not be complete without Volume II.
Expanding further upon the changes in motor sport, the technical advancements, circuit design, the sagas surrounding the drivers, the politics and degrading rules, this is born another escapade in history.
If history is not chronicled, if a story is not told people, generally, together with the enthusiastic, racing supporters and young people alike, they will be denied a picture of the past. Because history fore-tells the future, we should not miss the opportunity assessing what the future will reveal.
This volume continues the tale of like minded enthusiasts embarking on another episode endeavouring to enjoy every minute of their chosen sport.
Journeys abroad to Daytona and Indianapolis: reflecting upon the Moss crash; Clark, the emergence of Rindt, grid formats, the starting procedure; the blue flag debate and assessing the merits of the dubious ‘characters’ in the sport. The inexorable costs and slide towards television entertainment.
Perhaps it is the duty of a person, with thoughts, to pass on his or her meditations to the next generation: similarly, reminding readers of past events, offering them enjoyment reminiscing on tales of old.
